Designer High Top Trainers

Trainers as I’m quite sure you would agree with me are one of the most comfortable styles of footwear you can get? Sneakers as trainers are also known  were once only designed for sports, but today we have seen an epidemic of the sporty styles that serve a purpose of style opposed to sport, so that we can be comfortable and look fabulous on our casual everyday activities.

By the early 1900’s trainers were being manufactured and ever since then we have seen more elaborate and intricate designs sprouting up from quite literally everywhere.

One trainer design that has been prolific this spring summer is the ‘hi-top’ trainer design. Hi-tops were once traditionally worn by basketball players.  Michael Jordon was one of the first to rock a pair on court courtesy of trainer giant Nike.

A hi-top trainer is essentially a normal trainer with an extra bit of leather upper that goes up and around the ankle. In 2009 Kanye West collaborated with Louis Vuitton to produce their first hi- top trainer which was in an all signature red colour which were a complete sell out. Since then fashion designers Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin and celebrities like Heidi Klum, Rita Ora and Rihanna just to name a few are running rife in these sports luxe numbers.

The great thing about hi-top trainers is that they are versatile and easy to team with most looks you already have in your wardrobe. They look great teamed with shorts, skirts, denim clothing and for a smarter option they look great with chino’s, a pair of slim fitting or cropped trousers.

To help you shop the best of what is out there and complete your most chic sports luxe look, I have put together the top 5 of the best designer hi-top trainers out there!
