The easiest way to elevate ones look is to introduce a accessory. The great thing about accessories is you don’t have to go to
designer, you can affordably tap into this seasons most exciting trends with great high street alternatives.
Caps have been around for a while now but this season we
have seen more designers than ever take to the runway exhibiting collections of
all styles with one commonality which was the baseball cap, it was used to finish off
the most fashion forwards of looks.
Mara Hoffman’s S/S 15 collection saw a subdue pastel palette
of garments ignite the runway, where much of the pieces juxataposed soft tones
with prints that saw dynamic geometric patterns and shapes. The collection
vastly flowy with undertones of androdgynous infusions where the pieces were
largely laid bare but when they were accessoried it was with the cap. The
baseball inspired cap featured in three different looks which saw brightly
coloured styles and printed stunners.
Another fashion week front runner that accessorised their
look with the cap was Alexandre
Herchcovitch. This collection was insanely
beautiful with many of the pieces inspired by Hollywood glam made in the most
luxe fabrics and soft colours that saw dewy mellow yellows, vivid greens and
with touches of burnt orange. The floral
prints and feminine flowy cuts all lent to the sophisticated feminine attitude
which worked effortlessly with the sports luxe feel which was channelled with a
intricately embellished caps.
Then there were the more traditional looks that as you can imagine which featured baseball caps paired with the sartorial
aesthetic meets street luxe for DKNY. This season more designers than ever have embraced the trend from the likes
of Alexander Wang to Rag+Bone and even
Victoria Beckham.
